• I hope someone can PLEASE help me.

I’ve recently installed WordPress blog software for my website’s blog. I installed it directly from my webhoster.. dreamhost.

I’ve selected the following options in my user panel:
    – YES show avatars
    – Show avatars of ‘G’ rating
    – Show ‘Identicon’ avatars for users without a predetermined avatar

I’ve also made an account on Gravatar.com to show MY own avatar with all my posts.

In the panel section to EDIT comments MY avatar comes up, but on the blog itself avatars JUST DON’T SHOW UP. Not to mention I apparently can’t contact wordpress and ask them to help me out.

I am INCREDIBLY frustrated. I really hope someone can help me figure out how exactly to get the avatars to show up!

  • While it may offer you some release to shout (all those caps) do keep in mind this is your first post here. Nobody could help you until you asked, right?

I apparently can’t contact wordpress and ask them to help me out.

Free software, free support. You found the free support ??

As for the avatars, they’re relatively new to the WordPress world. I bet DreamHost still bundles about a kabillion themes when you use their WordPress installed. Most of those themes pre-date the addition of gravatars to WP.

So, you either find a “modern” theme to use, or you do a bit of theme modification. If you go that route, please check out Using_Gravatars in the Docs section of this site.

I’d like to have the snowflake avatars show up on the side by the recent comments and also when some one makes a comment. I was able some how to find them and they show up on the admin page, but not the finished blog page. Love some help.

    Pam
