• So I upload a APNG and it works in the edit media page. I see it animating and the file size is correct. But then if I refresh (or try to view it in the website) WP auto coverts it to a normal PNG. Getting rid of the animation and shrinking the file size. My example was 2.1 mb animates and it turned it into a 40kb static PNG. Is there any way to stop WP from doing this. I can not find much info out there about APNG and WordPress, unfortunately

    I can not use a GIF because I need a gradient of Alpha levels, Wish GIF does not support. I am open to other options, but my requirements are a single image source URL that my JS can call to populate the page. SVGs and other options I looked at didn’t allow this, to my knowledge
