I’m using the “Intergalactic” wordpress theme, and have a post with a contact form in it. I’d like the form to not show up on the first page, so I’ve supplied “excerpt” text for that post. However, without a <!–more–> tag, the entire contact form shows up on the front page — no excerpt.

So, the <!–more–> tag works, but it generates two click-through boxes (screenshot: https://snag.gy/5zRMd.jpg ).

Ideally I just want the “Read More” box, but I’d settle for either one or the other. How can I get this?

Hi there, are you talking about a contact form in a post? Are you using a specific plugin? With Jetpack installed, this is what I get on the main page when I create a contact form post: https://cldup.com/ALr0cZTf1d.png

I’m pretty sure we can hide the contact form for you, but I would need to be able to see your site if you are using something besides the Jetpack contact form.

I’m a wordpress.com site — Jetpack looks like it’s a plugin available for non-hosted WordPress instances. The kind of form I’m talking about is just the [contact-form] tag.

Here’s the site: https://noriandjack.wordpress.com/ . You can see that, on the RSVP post on the main page, the form is also rendered (I’ve taken out the <!--more--> tag to show this for now). How can we hide the form on the excerpt?

    Thanks!

    D’oh, thanks.

No problem – lots of people get confused by it :)!
