    Hi, WordPress friends.

I have put together several WP blogs, however this is my first time doing WP in a static website form. I have a comprehension problem and am getting frustrated trying to figure out these last couple things, any help would be much appreciated.

The site is https://bayareapaintmasters.com When you visit you’ll see the header spacing is off. How do I fix this?

Second thing you will notice is that the title on the pages are way too big (inside the page). Is there any way I can keep the page title up in the menu bar, but not have it show up inside the post? For example, can you click on ‘About Paintmasters’ page and just see the content without having to see the title name a second time?

Lastly, the content on the pages is too far down, how do I move it up so it looks right?

  • All of those changes are possible in the CSS code — but before making any changes, you need to make a Child Theme. Otherwise all of your changes will be lost when WP is updated. And even more importantly, you need a clean copy of the default theme for troubleshooting purposes. So after you have your child theme set up, post back and someone can help you with the changes.

Okay, thank you, WPyogi. I have done what you said. Now what?

    Here is my CSS stylesheet:

Sorry but you don’t have a Child Theme actually set up. Did you activate it?

And please do not post code here like that — a link to your site lets people see all the CSS on the site — see this:

Sorry, I won’t do that again D: I must have not done the child theme right, let me try it again.

No worries, just FYI. A moderator will likely get rid of it — sometimes code like that actually messes up the forum layout!

And yes, just review the Child Theme page — once you have it ready, you have to switch themes to get to it — just like activating any other new theme.
