How do I find out my mySQL username/password?

  • I’m trying to install bbPress but when I do it asks which database it should use and the username and password for it. I looked through all the settings in WordPress and couldn’t find where to locate this information. I have several WordPress databases I’m just not positive which one is which.

  • To obtain your MySQL db username and password, all u need is to

    1) Download wp-config.php file via FTP – normally this file is in your root directory
    2) Open up the file
    3) You will see your database name, username and password over there…

    This comes in handy especially u have multiple blog installation in one web hosting account….

    The database info should be in your wp-config.php file.
