    Hi,

I just tried a program that I can recommend that will check a site and show all the broken links, and it’s free.

    Xenu Link Sleuth – https://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html

OK, so it checked 3498 links on my biggest site and found around 20 that are broken.

    I posted this question ..

The $64,000 question is how do I find out which of my articles contain the broken links?

But just discovered that the program produces a site-map which shows the pages with the bad links.

It’s a far better program than I realized.

    thanks,

    Jane

  • Use the WordPress search on your site to search for the broken URLs. This is what I did to find every instance of a broken link on my site.

I didn’t always have the name of them.

Sometimes I’d used shortened URLs which I won’t do again.

They were in comments and not in posts.

I managed to find those using phpMYAdmin

    thanks,

    Jane
