• I am trying to add my sitemap and a few other links to my footer. But, I don’t know where to find it. I am using the theme WordPraized 1.1 by Praized Media as my template for my wordpress website. Can someone help me to find where my footer is? Thank you for the help.

  • On the back-end go to Appearance->Editor and look for footer.php. Be careful when editing your core .php files.

Looks like that theme doesn’t have a widgetized footer.
You can make direct edits by going to dashboard=>appearance=>editor
and then click footer on the list on the right.

It will take some intermediate to advanced knowledge to make changes down there.

Can you give me a suggestion of a good theme that makes the footer easily accessible? I am not devoted to that theme specifically. So, it wouldn’t be an issue for me to change that. I looked at the info to the right on the editors page and that is past my knowledge. It would be easier if I could access the footer another way. Can you give me a suggestion of a good one or could you tell me how to find one that would fit an easier method of updating? Thank you for your help.

you can edit the footer to have a widget area by calling the dynamic sidebar in the php file, then you can edit its contents via the widget section.

i did this when i added a second sidebar onto my site.

Editing it through the widget section would be great. I found the sidebar.php in the editor section. How do I create the dynamic sidebar in the php file? And where in the template of the sidebar do I add the dynamic sidebar? Can you walk me through it? I am not verse yet in how to do this. I appreciate it. Thank you.

I do not have “Dashboard => Appearance => Editor” as an option. Is my account bug’d?

@alayatechnology: Please post a new topic.

Just to clarify so there’s no confusion for anyone who comes across this thread…

On the back-end go to Appearance->Editor and look for footer.php. Be careful when editing your core .php files.

Core files are not theme files. They’re the main WP files.
