How Do I do.. *insert a few newbie questions here*

etc.

For your first problem, edit your stylesheet so that this rule:

.narrowcolumn .postmetadata {
	text-align: center;
	}

becomes this rule:

.narrowcolumn .postmetadata {
	text-align: left;
	}

For the comments number thing, check out the related codex article.

For the third thing, take a look at the codex article on Stepping Into Templates, which explains a bit about how WP works behind the scenes to generate your site’s content.

If you want to keep customizing your site, you’ll probably want to learn a bit of PHP and CSS. The WordPress Codex is very helpful for that!

I’m just wondering if I have time to fathom this out, might be better to outsource this kind of thing.

Is there a place on the WordPress forum it’s ok to advertise for a “wordpress expert” ?

Since you are a “forum guy” maybe you should read the Forum Rules on the main page. (hint: section F)

It’s the last “sticky” when you view all posts.

Ok took me a while but might have helped if somebody had told me that “view all topics” constituted the “main page”.
