Only you, the editor, see the word edit. Viewers don’t.

    Hi Tobias,

I’m having an issue where all site visitors can see the edit button. The plugin didn’t remove it either.

Here’s one of the pages we use your tables easydita.com/pricing

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

This indicates that your site is using some sort of caching where the caching plugin caches the logged-in view. Are you using such plugins?

You could also remove the “Edit” link globally, using https://tablepress.org/extensions/remove-edit-link/

    Hello,

I cleared the cache on our plugin and my browser and I still see the link. We use autoptimize.

I also have the https://tablepress.org/extensions/remove-edit-link/ active on our staging site https://easydita.staging.wpengine.com/pricing/

    Hi,

that’s interesting then… With the Extension enabled, the link should be hidden. I assume that you are still seeing some cached version.
Depending on some issues in the database, this cache might stall sometimes. You could therefore try clearing the cache manually, by deleting all entries in the wp_options database table that start with _transient_tablepress_c_ or _transient_timeout_tablepress_c_. Just be careful to NOT delete the tablepress_options and tablepress_tables entries.

If that still does not help, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please get in touch via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Hi,

after investigating this in more detail, we found that Divi had replaced the Shortcode with the HTML output for a table, so that changes were not taking effect any more.
By replacing that with the Shortcode again, everything is now working fine again.

    Regards,
    Tobias
