• Hi,

I had a WordPress account many years ago that I deleted, and just became an administrator on a site that uses WordPress. I do not want a profile image on that site and did not upload one, but a profile image has shown up anyway. Is this in fact connected to WordPress and if so, how do I get the image deleted?

    Thanks,

    -EldritchGirl

  • It is not connected to WordPress. It’s connected to your email address and the account you set up at gravatar.com.

That doesn’t seem to be the case. To my knowledge I have no account set up at Gravatar.com, and when I try to log in via the WordPress account I just created today (EldritchGirl), it doesn’t allow me to. (I did not upload an avatar for this account, either, it just appeared).

I’d really like to get rid of this avatar if at all possible so if anyone has any further suggestions, please let me know.

I’m sorry but this really has got nothing to do with WordPress. The very fact that I can see your custom avatar here indicates that you do have an active gravatar.com account.

I am attempting to sign in at Gravatar.com using my current WordPress username and password and it is telling me that the login is invalid. What should I do now?

Gravatar.com has nothing directly to do with WordPress. You cannot use a WP login on that site.

On WordPress, when I go to Edit Profile, it tells me to edit my avatar via the Gravatar site. The Gravatar site then tells me to log in via WordPress, which it is claiming is an invalid account. This has plenty to do with WordPress, and I would like to know why it is claiming that my WordPress account is invalid and not allowing me to sign up any other way.
I am determined to get rid of this avatar, so hopefully someone at WordPress can help me figure out a way to get rid of it for good (unless you are suggesting I email Gravatar, where I do not apparently have an account, and ask them to change my WordPress profile image).

I am copy and pasting the Gravatar site’s exact wording here:

Sign in to Gravatar with WordPress.com Connect

Gravatar now allows you to use a WordPress.com account to sign in. If you have a WordPress.com account already then you can use that, or you can create a new one.

    Sign in with WordPress.com

I currently have a WordPress account, and it is not letting me sign in. Should I create another WordPress account?

it tells me to edit my avatar via the Gravatar site

Not here it doesn’t. And that custom gravatar is showing up here. gravatar.com has nothing to do with www.remarpro.com. It is a service set up for many people – including WordPress users – but it is not part of www.remarpro.com.

We cannot help you here. Contact the folks at gravatar.com/.
