On my home page, I want to have my post excerpts displayed with the main featured image, together with the title above, all in a tidy little box for each excerpt….

For example, check the homepages of https://www.johnnyvagabond.com or https://www.backpackingmatt.com

I understand this is CSS, perhaps tables, but I have little to no clue of how to implement this code. It can’t be that hard.

Can anybody give me some pointers to get me started, a basic template of what to do and where to put it in my code would be awesome but all tips and advice are welcomed!

  • as with all formatting/css questions, it is important to see your site to be able to suggest anything.

what is the link to your home page?

    Sorry, my site is https://www.ramblingirish.com

Even if I could get the featured image for each post to be the width of the content, with the post excerpt below it and post title above it, that would be a start.

But so far, with post excerpts, they only seem to show as thumbnails, regardless of what changes I make in the post edit settings.
