How do I create custom pages?

Im currently using the magazine basic theme. Is there a theme that will let me create custom pages? For example, on my “About” page, I might have one sidebar with a Flickr widget. Then, on another page called “Photos”, I might have 2 side bars with a flickr widget and a google maps gadget.

So basically I want to be able to possibly pages that have different numbers of side bars and different widgets–does that make sense? So one page might have no side bars and no widgets and another page might have 2 side bars and 2 widgets. Or, at the very least, I can keep the number of side bars the same, but is there a way to put different widgets on different pages?

Im not very good with CSS, so is there a theme that will let me do it with menus?
