• I am sure someone else has asked this question but I cannot find the answer anywhere.

Is there any way of checking whether an installed plugin is actually being used within my site?

I can tell if it’s active, but I can’t work out if it’s safe to delete… am doing some plugin housekeeping.

    Many thanks,

    Olivia

Unfortunately there isn’t a programmatic way of checking this because there are too many plugins that do too many things. It sounds like you need to go over the plugin documentation to see what it does and then you can check whether it is doing it.

thanks so much for responding. If nothing else it’s good to know that there is no such thing so I can stop looking!

Feel I have a bit of a long process ahead of me ??

Don’t suppose you know of a long winded way of checking each one? e.g. does it show in the css ?

As for example – I have various mailchimp extensions that do same thing (was experimenting with diff plugins and didn’t delete as i went along) and i know I’ve got mailchimp being used on my site but not sure which ones are doing it. If that makes sense?!

Sure, that would work if the plugin uses CSS on your website. Then again it might only use it on a particular page. The problem is that plugins don’t necessarily expose themselves on your website.
