• Hello, I’m battling with something i want to change wp default search parameter to look like blogspot i.e from ?s= to ?q= so that it can be compatible with google custom search box.

  • I’m not entirely sure what you mean by being “compatible”, as GCSE is not querying your website directly: it’s simply returning results from Google’s index of your site. And the GCSE search box on your site works fine with the default q.

    That said, changing the WordPress query parameter is possible but will require some custom coding, and googling will give you a lot of tutorials to do this.

    But, rather than going this more difficult route, you could also go the easier direction: changing the GCSE query parameter from the default q to match WordPress’ s?
