How do I change the main menu to where it isn’t alphabetical?

I am wanting to change my main menu to where it’s in a particular order and I know that you can normally do this by going to appearance, then menus, and simply editing the order of your main menu items. When I save this though it still isn’t in the order I want it and just automatically lists the menu items alphabetically. Is there a way to change this?
