how do i change the default post date and time??

You may have to look at your Theme’s index.php to change the date format that’s displayed with each post.

this is all i see on index.php

i cant even see the author name on the post =(

Why are you looking at the single.php?

So did you get it? Uncomment the_author tag and change the_time(format) to whatever you want.

As Beel said, change the <?php the_time('F jS, Y') ?> to the format you want–such as


<small><?php the_time(' l, F j, Y') ?> by <?php the_author() ?> </small>
