How do I change the default banner pixel size?

    My blog is colinforreal.com

    I need to post a banner image and the default size set by the theme creator is 990×187.

    However, no matter what I do to my image, I cannot use those proportions. So I need to change the dimensions of the banner to 631×187.

    I’ve already tried changing the style css to meet my requirements, but it did not change the option in the banner menu under appearance settings to the correct size I need.

    Please help!
