• HI, I posted a question yesterday about not being able to edit in presentations and Vkaryl was kind enough to write this:
Are you seeing a sentence at the bottom something like “if this file was writeable you could edit it”? If so, then you have to change permissions on the file to allow editing within the theme editor. Try 666 first, then if it still doesn’t save the file, boost to 777. BUT SET PERMISSIONS BACK TO 644 when you’ve done editing!

Yes That is what I see at bottom. Problem is I don’t know where to go to set permmisssions and how to do it.

  • Hi nevermore. You can set permission through the filemanager of your host, if that option is available there. Or else, if you upload files by ftp, there mostly is an option to do this. I use smartftp and I canrightclick to change this.

I just set permissions to 777 but i still cant edit the php files in presentations..well i can make changes but i don’t see the results when i “view site”

If the changes you made are saved at least the permission settings were successful. Then the problem about not seeing those changes must be something else.
