How do I change categories on multiple posts?

  • I have 986 posts which are assigned to two categories. I want to remove all of those posts from one category.

    If I select the posts individually using Quick Edit, I can deselect the unwanted category so that I can alter the post appropriately. But that is going to take a long time with 986 posts.

    So I tried the bulk editor. However, this does not have any categories selected (red ticks). So I cannot bulk change the categories on a large number of posts.

    Is there a way of doing this? I can’t find a plug-in.

    Any ideas?
