    Hello Nate –

Thanks again for the GREAT plugin. We took our client’s site live late last week have been amazed at how their customers are using the reservations system. This has pointed out a few changes we need to make and it requires making use of hooks – something I’m not familiar with.

Customers assume that by filling out the form they are “booking a table” instead of requesting a reservation even though all communication is to the contrary. We would like to change the heading from “book a table”to request a reservation” in yet another attempt to get that point across.

We also need to make the phone number a required field.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Hi dp,

The easiest way to change the “Book a Table” text (and any strings in the plugin) is to translate it using a plugin like Loco Translate. Even if you’re just using the en_US locale and aren’t technically “translating” anything, you should be able to create and load a custom language file covering all words and phrases in the plugin.

If you want to make the phone number required, I wrote a micro plugin for that. Click the “Download Gist” link on the right, then upload the .php file to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory. You can then activate it from your Plugins page in your WordPress admin panel.
