How do I best guard against spammers?

  • I’ve recently heard about people who register for a site, then use the signature line in their profile or comment on a post as a way to promote their site. Specifically, they use http or bbcode to plant a link to their site to boost views.

    How do I protect my site (not yet built) from these kinds of spam?
