I can’t find anything in the manual or control panel or add-ons about downloading my data so I can back it up. What am I missing?

I do see the section about uploading a CSV file. So presumably if I had all my data in a CSV file I could use that to restore the database.

    Thanks!

I now see Download CSV on the List Participants page. I’ve downloaded the file, but don’t see how it preserves my data. Or maybe that’s not the intention of CSV?

In my case the CSV contains the title of each article and the record number, but none of the other data associated with the record.

Don’t really get what CSV is all about I guess…

The best way to back up your data is to use a backup plugin that will back up the entire WordPress database. This backup will include all the Participants Database data, as well as the fields configurations.

The CSV export/import is more for giving you ways to manage the data. For example, when used with a spreadsheet application, you can generate or edit a lot of data very efficiently.

Thank you again. Ok, this is the next thing I need to learn about WordPress. I’m doing all this in a test account so I’ll practice killing the test site and restoring it from backups.
