    Good-day,

I am new to using Contact Form 7, so please pardon my apparent lack of knowledge. I work for a truck dealership and have been tasked to build a simple Parts Request Form for our Parts Department. On our test site, I have been able to create a form to do just that. However, our end users need to be able to request an unlimited list of parts, and I can’t figure out (at the moment) how to accomplish that with this plugin.

For example, a visitor may want to request part1, part2, and part3. I could easily accommodate this by simply providing at least 3 textboxes. However, I run into a problem if I fix this and a visitor wants to request more than this.

How do I handle this dynamically? Or should I just use a textarea with placeholder text that instructs the user to enter each part on a separate row?

  • Looks like you are looking for Conditional Logic which is not available directly in the Contact Form 7 plugin.

It can be done via custom programing but you would need to be rather skilled at WordPress development using PHP and/or jQuery.

Some of the premium Form plugins do offer some Conditional Logic including Gravity Forms and Ninja Forms.

Oh, okay. Thanks for letting me know. I kinda suspected that so it’s good you clarified this for me. Although I’m not very skilled with PHP and Ajax, I like the flexibility Contact Form 7 gives me.

For now I have decided to forgo the logic idea and simply provide a large text area with instructions to place each item (part) on a single line.

Thanks for your response – really appreciate it.
