how do i allow this plugin to inherit the font that my wordpress theme uses?

Just add below css in your tab custom css field –

#tab_container_157 .wpsm_nav-tabs > li > a{
     font-family: 'Montserrat'!important;
}
#tab_container_157 .tab-content{
    font-family: 'Montserrat'!important;
}

Try it and then let me know.
