How do I add social media icons to the menu without installing a plugin?

  • I can’t find any way to add social media icons simple facebook, twitter, soundcloud buttons to the menu. Searching the web I find either plugins or the x million site that wants to sell me their template. I just want some buttons in the menu bar…

    Why doesn’t wordpress offer that option to the header menu?

  • You can use HTML in a custom link that you add to a menu. So you could do

    <img src="fblogourl.png" />

    as the Menu text and it should show the image you link to.
