How Do I Add Custom Field To Exclude a Page or Post

    I’m attempting to exclude a specific page from the xml sitemap. The administration instructions indicate I should “create a new custome field” but I don’t see a way to do this.

    Can you help me find out how I create a new custom field so I can add the appropriate values to exclude the page from the sitemap.xml?

    go to the page or post in your wordpress. if you don’t see the “custom fields” there, you have to activate them first. click on “screen options” at the top. then activate the box for “custom fields”.

    now enter the word “sitemap” in the “name” field and “no” in the “value” field.

    then you only have to click on “add custom fields” and save the page / post.

    if you have installed everything correctly – this page/blog post is then excluded from the sitemap.
