How do I add an author without creating a user

  • Hi

    My site has a content editor and many writers. The writers send the articles to the editor by e-mail and he adds them to the site (as the author).

    I don’t want him to be the author of all my articles.
    Adding new user to every writer is hard to maintain.
    Using custom field won’t let me use wordpress built-in tags to display the contents of the authors (i.e. list of all articles.)

    How do I convert the writers of the articles’ to be the authors in wordpress?

  • If you want to make use of author templates & archive lists, you’re just going to have to add each author as a user.

    Is there a quick way to do that? a good plugin? I don’t need the authors to be active users

    I’m afraid there are only active users which you can add via Admin/Users/ Add User.

    Don’t know of any plugins that would simplify this. Sorry.
