How do I add a set to a page or the site?

No, I am sorry but I have not.

Did you figure this out? I too can’t see how to add the background set to a page.

I just figured it out.
1. Add a new background and set the slide as the featured image
2. Do this for each background

that’s it. There’s only one slideshow. It is applied to the entire site.
