• Currently, I have a temporary notice as my home page.

The real Home page is ready for publication but I don’t know how to activate it.

Can someone spell it out for me, I’m a novice.

    Thanks – rev

  • do you mean your web host has a temp page?
if so, you will need to delete the index.html in the root to let wordpress’ index.php work

    Sam:

Someone else set it up for me so I don’t really know what I’m talking about. He put a temporary ‘under construction’ notice in place of the home page so that people can’t see what I’m doing until it’s all finished.

The real homepage can be viewed under the Admin Dashboard > Pages section and I’ve done work on it so it’s not a default WordPress homepage.

Where you normally see ‘Publish’ I only see an ‘Update’ button.

The real home page is listed as ‘Published’ under the Date column in the Pages list. So it’s uploaded and published but the wrong one is visible.

    Thanks – rev

    can we have a link?

    hi revnice

Solution: You must login to your FTP Account and delete the index.html which saying the temporary message.

Did you upload your wordpress site under this folder directory?

    /public_html directory
