• I’m fairly new to Events Manager, but have figured out plenty of things with help from the documentation and forums.

What I can’t seem to find is how the individual event managers can approve bookings to their single events. Is that not a use case for this?

What we have is an event where attendees can create and manage bookings for their own events. I have that all set up properly. However, as people sign up for their events, both the person booking and the event manager receive an email noting the “pending” sign-up. However, the event manager has nowhere to go to approve the booking. It appears that only the site manager has any page where they can do this. “Manage Bookings” permissions are appropriately turned on.

Is the only option for individual users to be given access to the “Dashboard”? I’m not seeing anything in the Placeholders or elsewhere that provides this ability.

  • It sounds like your event creators are subscribers? I think you need to check the User Capabilities in the Events Manager settings.

“manage_bookings” = only manage their own events
“manage_other_bookings” = manage bookings not owned by them. ]

    Hope it helps.

Updated to add that I found the #_BOOKINGSURL placeholder, however when users click on that link, they are simply taken to the home page of the web site, despite having correct permissions.

Correct, event creators are subscribers and subscribers have the “manage_bookings” permission.

What URL are they intended to go to in order to manage the bookings? The URL presented by the placeholder I mentioned is inaccessible to them. And I see no way, through the placeholders or other pages for subscribers to access this functionality.

I now see an “Other Pages” tab under the “Pages” settings that allows you to direct users to a specific page for managing bookings. Apparently a default page doesn’t exist? Does one have to be constructed from scratch?

Surely this has come up before and there is a tutorial I’m missing?

Found it and posting it here for those who may find this in the future. Everything else has been so “out of the box” and straightforward that I didn’t realize I’d have to create pages for these items.
