Within Settings > Discussion, I have it set to:

    Email me whenever

    • [UNCHECKED] Email me whenever Anyone posts a comment
    • [UNCHECKED] A comment is held for moderation

But what happens if I leave these ENABLED in your plugin settings:

    • Notify post author
Send e-mail to an author (and/or others) of a comment/trackback/pingback on a post.
    • Notify moderator
Send e-mail to the moderator of the blog about a new comment that is awaiting approval.

    Which one wins?

Hi @freshyjon, that’s a good question. These checks are an extra feature and will overrule the default settings in WordPress. It’s a little bit of legacy functionality and did some extra overruling for some other plugins. Understandable that it confuses you.

OK, just to confirm, if we already had the Settings > Discussion options turned off (so they don’t send the emails) — if we then installed your plugin and didn’t also turn those emails off within your plugin settings, we would then receive emails (since your plugin overrides the default WP settings)?
