How to change from phpmail to SMTP?

    Since some days some popular german email providers don’t accept emails sent by STCR anymore. I was told this problem could be solved by sending email by SMTP instead of phpmail.
    So my question is: Is there any possibility to change the method for sending emails?

    After getting no support for my question here, I already found the answer by myself:
    I installed the WP Mail SMTP plugin and this solved my problems.
    I understand that the problem was not caused by STCR, instead is was a result of the default method for sending mails used by WordPress.
    I have no additional information or links related to this subject.
