How change Description in Stripe

  • Earlier I saw more information in the stripe account about the subscription in the description field. Now I see only “subscription activated”. This can be seen on the screen https://prnt.sc/vqdvaw. How can I change the description field settings for Stripe. I have a site on WordPress and a plugin s2membePro.
    How can I customize the description field to see what I need?

    Hi @julmasters

    You can change the description from the s2Member shortcode, the desc attribute, for you new subscriptions. It seems like the ones at the bottom of your list used it.

    I don’t know why the top ones don’t, did you write that for your form’s description? On what page of your Stripe dashboard did you take that screenshot?

    It’s a matter of fatigue that everything was set up by another developer, so I’m not very familiar with all the forms and all the settings of the plugin. But I need to fix it)

    Ah, I see.

    Well, that description is given by Stripe, it’s not set by s2Member. s2 gives Stripe the description, but it’s not using it there. You see it if you go to the Subscriptions page (under Customers in your Stripe Dashboard), there is used the one s2 gives.

    s2 doesn’t make the charge, s2 creates the subscription, and then Stripe manages the rest. That charge is made by Stripe after having the subscription created. The first one gets that description, following ones have the invoice’s number.

    I hope that makes sense…

    I see that if you go to the page for that payment (click on the payment on your list), that description can be edited, it’s under the section Payment Details. But this won’t stop the new ones from getting the same default description.

    I will get in touch with the Stripe guys, to see if they can suggest something that could be done to change that first payment’s description.

    Just before the stripe got a valid description with the name of the subscription. What could have influenced this?
