• Your announcement that you are considering ending support for this plugin has sent shock waves!

What can we do to help convince you to stay in the battle. Give us a paypal site, and watch the happy bloggers that can actually spend time USING their sites, rather then spending hours deleting spam posts and users send their thanks to you.

This plugin kept me from throwing in the towel when I was overwhelmed with spammers. Please let us keep you from throwing in the towel!

  • I have a PayPal page for the plugins and I get $15 in a good month. The best month I’ve had was about $40.

But where is it? A link! Give us a link!

It is still on BlogsEye.com, but I took it out of the plugin when I decided to let it die.

I understand what you mean, but why not simply make this a paid plugin.

The cost might be low, but either way it could make you quite a lot of money as it simply works consistently and reliably

There are always those who will struggle, so refund those!

Keith, I’m so disappointed too, to hear you can’t support this any longer. I certainly understand your situation. I actually donated in January of this year ??

I wish you’d put up the page again, because I’d like to pay you again, for all the spam you’ve stopped on these blogs in the past, whether you decide to keep up support going forward or not.

I’ve recommended this plugin to several of my clients. Do you have any suggestions for those of us who really rely on this? Do you know of another plugin that works as well as yours?

But what I’d rather have an answer to, is there any way we can encourage you to keep a simple version in the repo and make a paid version with all the bells and whistles?

Would it be possible to add this as a repository on github so it can continued via fork route?

I believe that aomeone already put in on github.

    I didn’t do this.

You can get the latest version at Blogseye, com and branch it from that.

I think there’s also an “open for adoption” tick you can set on plugins, to let other devs know? I thought I heard something about that from Nacin at the Orlando WordCamp.

There is no plugin adoption procedure. The source code is open to anyone, and anyone who wants to create a new plugin using the methods in my code could do so. I don’t like the idea of some random programmer taking my plugin with my name on it, messing it up, and then leaving me open to blame when lawyers get involved.

    Keith

Oh so this is why more and more spam has been getting through.
I am really disappointed as well, I’m one of the people that has made a donation in the past.
All the other anti-spam plugins suck big time! You should really make this a paid plugin, and continue developing it.

There will be another release. I am working on it. I hope this one will be extensible and others will write modules for it.

    Keith

    Great! Thank you Kieth!

Wow, just found this plugin and now hear it may no longer be actively developed. I find it invaluable and would be willing to pay to ensure it stays alive.

Let’s get some community support for this, there’s nothing else like it that works as well. I was happy when the spam registrations stopped but shocked at the number of attacks recorded per day. We need tools like this to help us protect our sites.

    keep up the good work!

Please don’t tell us that you actually got threatened with lawsuits, that would suck soooo much!

Your plugin is the quintessence of awesomeness!

Every website of mine, even after installing Captcha and Akismet, ALWAYS gets hundreds of spam user registrations and posts. The second I install your plug in, those spammers drop to maybe 10 a year!

You are really the man, please don’t let dumbasses put you down!

If you do put out another version, please make sure to charge something for it or make it clear where I can donate. I’d gladly send you some money right now. Your plugin has stopped over 87,000 spam attacks on my site since July. It’s worth money to me.
