How can we extend the customize options for Twenty Sixteen

  • Within Twenty Sixteen, version 1.2, what must we do to add more CSS options under the customize panels? Specifically speaking…when I upload a background image through the customize panel, I still get color on Page Background Color. I want to implement the option of setting an opacity value on .site, this way we can see through the page background color and get a glimpse of the full background image.

    Where do we start if we were to do this right and modify the theme directly in an IDE?
