I’m building out a page and I’d like to place buttons I’ve made in MaxButtons (not Pro version). How can I view the CSS code? I’m not able to get shortcodes to work for some reason. I’m using GeneratePress/Blocks, unpaid version.

I would be better to find out why the shortcodes don’t work. Using Gutenberg you can either use the Shortcode block to add it and Maxbuttons has it’s own block as well you can include.

That said, under advanced in the bottom of the button editor there is a button called ‘view css’ which will show you the markup.

Thank you for your help. I’m using GeneratePress/Blocks free version, and for some reason I can’t get shortcodes to work. It may be that the function is only made available in the paid versions of the programs.

But I thought that shortcodes are a WP thing and not a GenerateX thing, so how can the functionality be locked? I’m a designer, not a developer, so most probaby I’ve simply not found the correct way to implement shortcodes.

For that matter, I did find the MaxButtons CSS code, but I wasn’t able to make that work either. So now the page has oval button shapes with no hover or click effect. For this project I can live with web 1995.

The shortcode is a default gutenberg block so that should still show up. The maxbuttons block should also be there when the plugin is active. You should probably search in the block library to see if it’s there. Some plugins might hide / disable unused blocks.

For the CSS code thing to work, you also need to output the button somehow. Without shortcode no button will probably be produced, so that’s tricky.
