How can I upload Plugins w/out a Plugins tab in my Admin Panel?

    I’m trying to upload Plugins, but have no idea how to. The Support pages show a ‘Plugins’ tab on the left-hand menu of the Administrative Panel, but that doesn’t exist in mine. Some pages say to upload the contents of the Plugin to ‘/wp-content/plugins’ but I don’t know what this is referring to. Even if I did, I couldn’t do the next step which is to activate it through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.

    Please let me know if I’m missing something. I’ve looked through all of the Support pages and it’s just not making sense.
