How Can I Translate Just The Theme Frontend?

My theme translation is only visible if I use the Site Language option in General settings, but that option changes the admin wp settings to my language also, but that is not what I want as I like to use admin settings in English.

Using the WPLANG constant in the wp-config.php seems to be deprecated but this worked before to show only the frontend translation.
