How Can I Tell If My Web SIte Has Been Hacked or Hijacked

  • I set up a WordPress web site about 9 months ago.

    I am getting a lot of comments of late however the comments don’t seem to relate to my Website yet they come through to my Web site comments.

    Has my site been Hacked, Highjacked or Ghosted (sorry but I’m not sure what the correct terminology is)? Is there any way that I can check and find out?

    I still trying to learn about web sites so any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated.

  • Do you have any kind of Anti-spam plugin activated? Akismet should be installed as part of the WordPress install but it needs to be activated.

    No I didn’t activate Askimet. Do you think this will solve the problem?

    I had read somewhere that WordPress web sites were vulnerable to being taken over by a third party. Have you heard of this and is there any way that I can check to see if this has happened?
