    Hi,

After removing the plugin, I still have a policy guide in Settings - Privacy - Policy Guide left by the event calendar.

It says “You deactivated this plugin on May 22, 2024 and may no longer need this policy.” but I have no idea how I can totally remove it.

    Please help. Thanks!

  • Hello @sao987,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Privacy Policy Guide is a built-in WordPress feature that provides a text template to help you create a privacy policy page. We don’t have control over it, and it doesn’t appear to be deletable.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for your reply @frankremmy

Since this is added by The Events Calendar, how can you not providing a solution for me to remove it? Yes it is a built-in feature, but without your plugin calling privacy_policy_guide() function it won’t even be there in the first place…

    Hello @sao987,

I checked and there isn’t a function named privacy_policy_guide() in the WordPress core.

However, WordPress does include functionality related to privacy policies, especially since version 4.9.6, which introduced tools for GDPR compliance, such as the Privacy Policy page template and privacy-related features. So it’s not from The Events Calendar plugin. You can see there’s no plugin installed on this site but there’s Privacy policy guide – https://share.zight.com/Wnu8rnz1.

    Best regards,

    Frank

I mean privacy_policy_content, which the plugin definitely used, otherwise how can you add a privacy policy guide?

Nevertheless, I have already found where the police table is located in the database and deleted it. I can tolerate some orphaned data being left behind in the database after a plugin is deleted, but it’s a bit too much when things that show up in the backend are also not removed.
