  • Yes it is very simple. There is a check box to disable site maps in plug in .. Goto his plug in section named; /XML sitemap . At the top of page is box to ‘check this box to enable xml functionality’ uncheck box

    I disable this feature and started getting 404’s …so I turned it on again..

    To clarify, I want a sitemap. I just don’t want the ‘sitemap index’ style of sitemap as it is causing issues.

    In the ‘XML sitemaps’ section within WordPress SEO by Yoast, you can uncheck the boxes in the ‘exclude post types’ and ‘exclude taxonomies’ sections. This should do the trick.
