How can I make the excerpt mandatory

  • I need to find a way to make the excerpt field mandatory. In a way that the authors have to write something in this textbox to be able to publish it.

  • If you’re only goal is to have an excerpt on the frontpage you can use a template tag (the_excerpt) to do that.

    Thanks OnSeduction but that’s not what I want. What I need is to make my authors to write an excerpt for every posts.

    For example: if they are going to publish a post without writing an excerpt an error signal should appear once they press the Publish button.
