I want to link data between Table Press tables like I do in Excel. For example, if I have two related tables (Table One and Table Two), when I change a value in Table One I want it to automatically change/update the corresponding value in Table Two.

In Excel it is done with “Paste Link.” Is there a way to link the tables in Table Press?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

It’s not directly possible to create links between cells of tables, but you can retrieve the value of a cell and place it into another table by using the “Single Cell Shortcode Extension” from https://tablepress.org/extensions/table-cell-shortcode/

Depending on how often you update the “master” table (and how quickly you need the changes to be propagated to the other table), you’ll need to extend the Shortcode of the other table in order to turn off its HTML output caching to (for example)

    [table id=123 cache_table_output=false /]

    Regards,
    Tobias
