how can i have a sidebar at the end of the page

hello i would like to ask how is it possible to have content on a page with padding or specific width (e.g.1024px) and a sidebar at the end of the right. I am trying to make it with css but because it is a specific width when i go with margin-left to the right the disappear? I want something like social icons sidebar. Or is there a plugin?
