    I,

I’m having an issue with adding images to excerpt in the blog page of the Primer theme. The images can’t be added to the except box on the article.
My aim to the blog page is to have one or two paragraphs with an image and then the “Read more” button for each article. I’ve searched but found no right answer… Does anyone have any idea of how to do so?

    Thanks in advanced!

  • hi @inyourskinevents,

Primer leverages a lot of the WordPress core functionality, including the way we generate excerpts within the theme. WordPress, out of the box, does not support images (or any HTML markup, for that matter) inside of the generated excerpts.

What you will have to do is customize the theme a bit to support 2 paragraph excerpts, while preserving HTML markup. This is a bit outside the support of the theme as this starts to step into theme development territory.

I’ve not used this plugin, but it appears to do a lot of what you are searching for: Advanced Excerpt.

It looks like the plugin allows you to further customize the excerpts on your site while preserving HTML and shortcodes.

Let us know if that helps get you headed in the right direction!

    Hi @eherman24,

Thank you very much for your answer!
I’ve tried the plugin but it does not work on my case. But it’s OK, I understand that this needs a little coding to be as I expect.

    Thanks,
    Patrícia
