Hi – I love Optimole but am having a challenge with it. It seems that when I update images on my server, the Optimole CDN isn’t loading the new images. As a result, updated Alt tags aren’t used and images I’ve downsized are in some cases displayed at their full size — I assume it’s an older version of the images.

Is there a way I can get the CDN to reload the images from my server? Also, I’ve cleared all caches on my site, so I know that that’s not the problem.

  • Is the new feature an option to purge the cache manually for a site or some kind of digital fingerprinting that detects each file has changed and automatically refreshes the cache for each file at a time? Thanks for working on this feature!

    Hi @sjnbham,

This will be a purge cache mechanism that will be triggered on demand by you, whenever you need it.

Which workflow is ideal for yourself?

    Thank you!

    Hi, @optimole

Could you please explain if this new feature will also update ALT TITLE and other attributes of the images?

    Thank you

    Hi @nicmare,

No, it does not. Optimole does not change the alt tags for images.

    I hope this helps !

@nicmare – just to clarify, I believe the alt tags will be updated by whatever process you use to replace/update the image file in WordPress. Optimole only caches the actual image file vs. the alt tags in the HTML. At least that’s my understanding.

@optimole – the manual purge of the cache will take care of the instances where a site admin needs to update/replace a site asset like a logo, using the same file name. The scenario not covered is when a content editor updates/replaces an image with the same file name but doesn’t have access to purge the Optimole cache. I wonder if a file hash could be used to determine if each individual file needs to be updated in the cache without too much of a hit in performance.

Yes, that’s an interesting workflow which for sure makes sense.

I will think about something to onboard this process as well.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, it was very helpful.

Good day, I tried the Optimole Plugin, and I’m sure it’s great.
But when I access the Settings Tab, everything sits on the left all mooched up.
And It does not work to great with Elementor as well. Seems like the images is not really pulling through. I tried the “Regenerate” tab in Elementor, but this also does not seem to work.

    Any Ideas?
