I just installed the new version 3 over the old (free) version 2.9.5.6

Store is non-functional now. Categories don’t work (links to categories return 404 errors) and the shopping cart checkout 404s as well.

I want to re-install the version 2.9.5.6 from my backup, but I’m concerned about the database.

Version 3 asked me to update the dabatase. I have a backup of the database before installing v3, but I need to know which exact tables I should restore. I don’t want to restore the entire wordpress DB because other things have changed. I just want to restore the tables MarketPress uses. Can you tell me which tables I should restore?

Also, is there a simple way to export my products and product categories from MarketPress and import them into WooCommerce?

Thank you for using MarketPress. Here is a list of the tables that may have changed during your database update.

    _mp_product_attributes
    _mp_product_attribets_terms
    _options
    _posts
    _postmeta
    _mp_product_products
    _mp_terms
    _mp_term_relationships
    _term_relationships
    _term_taxonomy

For moving your products to WooCommerce, WPMU DEV has not created a MarketPress to WooCommerce importer but there are 3rd party extensions that offer to do the job. You should be able to run a search in google and find one but I do not have a recommendation.

Best of luck and we hope to better serve you in the future.

If you have not changed. Go to the second menu under the general setting icon for the new store settings. Check to make sure all store pages for the new version have been installed and are selected in the appropriate boxes. This was my 404 error. However the product category list will still not show as a grid even though selected.

I tried it and still got 404s.

I have now reverted to version 2.9.5.6 and restored the DB. Everything works now.

I’ll wait a few weeks to see if the developer releases a new version 3 that does not break the store (I’ll test it offline of course). If that does not happen, I’ll probably switch to WooCommerce. It is a bother, but I need a future-proof solution.
