  • Hi @hibuddy2902,

The job slug will depend on where the job is posted from. We recommend posting jobs from the frontend, as that will make sure everything is formatted correctly. When you do this it will make the permalink in the following format:

    site-url/job/company-type-title

With a -number at the end for duplicates. For example, if example company posts a full time job called cashier it would look like this:

    site-url/job/example-full-time-cashier

If you post a job from the admin page, that will generate a page ID for the posting instead, similar to when you make a blog post.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi @hibuddy2902,

I wonder if the number 6 appears as a result of some similar job listings with the same keywords, or any other similar content that got published and deleted.

You can customise and change the job slug and permalink by following the tutorial we have on this page:

    https://wpjobmanager.com/document/tutorial-changing-the-job-slugpermalink/

It might help if you want to improve the way the slugs and permalink appear once the job listings are published.

Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions or doubts or if I misinterpreted your question. Thanks!

    Hi there –

WP Job Manager adds a number to the permalink in situations where it is required to make it unique. This is explained here:

    https://wpjobmanager.com/document/tutorial-changing-the-job-slugpermalink/#section-2

It seems like there must be a similar posting that is causing the issue. If you are able to create a staging environment and a new test site, please try adding a new job with the same information. I suspect that a number won’t be added to the URL.

Let us know what you find out.

i try to post a few unique ads and all have number six, see the following

    /job/manama-bahrain-6-filipino-driver-required/

    /job/seef-bahrain-6-sales-and-marketing-person-outdoor-indoor/

    /job/isa-town-bahrain-6-special-education-consultant/

as this is new site last week lanched and i am the only one who is posting so i am very sure this is not from duplicate but some other issue i cannot find

    Hello @hibuddy2902,

i try to post a few unique ads and all have number six, see the following

Can you try to create a job listing on your staging site that is totally different from the previous ones you created? Something like looking for a freelance IT person in London, UK. Try to include information and data that you have **never** used in previous listings.

As this will be a completely different job listing (also location-wise), it should not show any number in the slug. If a number 6 or a different number will appear regardless, then I’d recommend reporting this to your host so that they can take a look at it too.

also one more this if you open the link you will see job title doesn’t show in the job if you have any idea how to enable that

I suspect this is ruled by your theme. Can you try to temporarily switch your theme to Twenty Twenty and see if the problem persists?

Let me know what you find out!
