Relevanssi will automatically index and display private posts in search results to the users that are allowed to see them.

Hi Mikko and thanks for your answer.

I administer a church website. The sermons are marked as private.

When I search for e.g. a pastors name relevanssi will just show the site “sermons” with the overview of all sermons. It DOES find the string in its index but shows only the overview site.

When I mark one of these sermons as public and search again, I still get the “sermons” page PLUS this particular sermon in the search results. But only if it’s public. Do you know why that is?

(When I deactivate relevanssi and search again, I see ALL sermons – even the private one’s. But I still like relevanssi much better :-))

I just tried making a post private on my test site, and it had no effect on the search results when I’m logged in. If I’m not logged in or I’m logged in as another user, I of course can’t see the private post any more. So it seems to me it works just like it should.

Thus it’s hard for me to say what’s wrong without seeing more details.
