I create a SmartSlider, and use thumbnail for the background of individual slides.
For thumbnail I use already prepared images of 434×614 px. with maximum compression.
Thus, the size of the thumbnail image file //www.mysite.ru/wp-content/uploads/29111.jpg is about 65 kB.
But for the frontend images from the directory //www.mysite.ru/wp-content/uploads/resized/71a19ec5d6fa4c76a74dc2d61badcaf9/29111.jpg are displayed, the size of which is not much less – about 55 kB.
Please note that this creates almost a copy of the original image, but in the directory … / resized / 71a19ec5d6fa4c76a74dc2d61badcaf9 /
It turns out not the savings, but the overwhelming amount of storage data with very little traffic savings!
How can I disable this feature and display the original image in SmartSlider?
